Xiaomi’s recently announced its penta-camera smartphone, the Mi Note 10 international model and Mi CC9 Chinese model, but those weren’t the only devices newly unveiled by the manufacturer. Xiaomi has also introduced a smartwatch, the Mi Watch, another smartphone, the Redmi Note 8T, and a smart TV, the Mi TV 4. Here are details on more of the brand’s latest devices.
Xiaomi Mi Watch
The Xiaomi Mi Watch has wowed the media with its Apple Watch similarities and a price tag of just $185 (CNY 1,299). Xiaomi is known for paying homage to its western muse, so the design favors are no surprised. The smartwatch features a sleek boxy aluminum frame and a curved 1.78-inch AMOLED display. Though it runs Android’s WearOS, Xiaomi has heavily customized the software as MIUI For Watch, making a lot of the app design look more Apple-like.
Inside, the Xiaomi Mi Watch features a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It also includes a 570mAh battery. To support various smartwatch functions, the wearable includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC, as well as a heart rate monitor. There is also 4G eSIM connectivity.
Availability for the Xiaomi Mi Watch is currently relegated to China, Singapore, India, and Indonesia. In addition to the standard aluminum model Xiaomi well also release an exclusive stainless steel model in December for $286 (1999 RMB).
Redmi Note 8T
The Redmi Note 8T is another one of Xiaomi’s smartphones with a high-spec camera and relatively low price. The device features a quad-camera setup with a 48-megapixel main lens, which stands out due to its 1/2-inch sensor, with f/1.79 aperture and 79.4-degree field of view. There is also an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For its front camera, the Redmi Note 8T features a 13-megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture and various AI technologies to enhance selfies.
Hardware and design-wise, the Redmi Note 8T includes a 6.3-inch FHD+2.5D curved glass display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chip and a 4,000mAh battery with 18W USB-C charging. Configurations include 3GB of RAM and 32GB of intern storage selling for €179, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of intern storage selling for €199, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of intern storage selling for €249.
The device will have various international availability including Spain, Italy currently, France on November 13, and Germany on November 15. Color options include Moonshadow Grey, Starscape Blue, and Moonlight White.
Xiaomi Mi TV 4
International availability for the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 series has also been announced with the smart TV coming to Spain, the U.K., France, and Italy on December 2. Models include the Mi TV 4A 32-inch selling for €179, Mi TV 4S 43-inch selling for €349, and the Mi TV 4S 55-inch selling for €449. The Mi TV 4S 55-inch will have a preorder discount of €399 between November 25 to December 2.
Running Android TV 9.0, the Mi TV 4 series supports various Google apps and functions, including Chromecast and Google Assistant, as well as support for Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
For hardware, the smart TV models are powered by 64-bit quad-core processors. The Mi TV 4A 32-inch features a 1336×768 resolution display and 1.5 GB of RAM, while the Mi TV 4S 43-inch and Mi TV 4S 55-inch feature 4K HDR displays and 2GB of RAM.
