Samsung has confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on August 5. Devices set to be unveiled include the Galaxy Note 20 series, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
The event will be hosted as an online live stream, due to the current pandemic. Viewers can tune in at the Samsung U.S. Newsroom, Samsung.com, and likely also on YouTube and Twitter at 10 a.m. ET to watch the new devices be announced.
The teaser video shows a Mystic Bronze S-Pen stylus, hinting the rumored new color option for the Galaxy Note 20 series.
Other recent reports suggest the devices will release to the market on August 21 after being made available for preorder on August 5. The device series will likely Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20+, and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, though there are hints that there may only be Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The standard model could potentially start at $999 and the Ultra model at $1,299.
Live leaks of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra happened to surface courtesy of YouTuber Jimmy Is Promo just days before Samsung confirmed its launch event, showcasing an S-Pen, a black color option, a large camera module, thin bezels for the device. Additionally, the leak revealed Android 10 and One UI 2.5 software for the device.
The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra was also spotted in an FCC filing under the model number, SM-N986U just one day before Samsung’s event announcement. The listing reveals extensive connectivity details for all of the major U.S. bands, confirming low, mid, and 5G mmW 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6, NFC, and MST (Samsung Pay), wireless charging, as well as the Samsung S-Pen under the model number EJ-PN980, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip.
