Samsung has announced expanded availability for its latest AI PC options, the Galaxy Book 5 Pro and Galaxy Book 5 360 during CES 2025. The brand has indicated the devices will expand to markets including the U.S., Canada, UK, Germany, and France in February, after initially launching in September 2024. 

The notebooks are powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors that include NPUs functioning up to 47 TOPs. The system enables Samsung’s bevy of Galaxy AI features that especially set the new notebooks up as high productivity and high security devices. 

Samsung detailed the many AI features it has included in the Galaxy Book 5 series notebooks.

AI Select allows you to identify items for web browsing, shopping, viewing content by using a draw to select function on your screen. Similar to how Google Lens will bring up applicable results based on the content selected, AI Select enact the necessary functions needed for the content selected. Photo Remaster allows you to make AI-powered retouching improvements to images. Even older photos can be transformed into high-quality images with this feature. 

Microsoft Phone Link works in tandem with Galaxy AI to bring to life a host of features to the Galaxy Book 5 series that can benefit from a mobile to PC connection. In addition to other features, including Live Translate and Transcript Assist, Phone Link functions such as auto connecting to a nearby device, the ability to directly access files between connected devices, the ability to have your actions correspond between multiple Samsung devices, Galaxy Tab devices can serve as a second screen to a PC, and easy sharing between Samsung devices. 

The Galaxy Book 5 Pro features a 16-inch touch AMOLED, 3K high resolution display with 120% DCI-P3 Color volume, 500 nits brightness, and variable refresh rate up to 120HZ. 

Hardware includes 16GB and 32 GB memory options, in addition to 256GB, 512 GB, and 1TB SSD storage options. Input includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-A, one Micro SD, one HP port, and one HDMI 2.1 port. Connectivity includes Bluetooth v5.4 and Wi-Fi 7. For video, it features a 2-megapixel 1080p FHD webcam with staggered HDR. For audio, it features Dolby Atmos powered quad speakers paired with the 38mm woofers.

Other feature highlights include the 76.1Wh battery in the 16-inch Galaxy Book 5 Pro, providing 25-hour battery life. Its 65W USB-C adapter allows for quick charge support at a rate of 35% in just 30 minutes

The Galaxy Book 5 Pro also comes in a 14-inch model with slightly truncated specifications.

The Galaxy Book 5 360 features a 15.6-inch touch AMOLED, FHD 1920×1080 resolution display with 120% DCI-P3 Color volume, and 60Hz refresh rate.

Hardware includes 16GB memory and 256GB and 512GB SSD storage options. Input includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-A, one Micro SD port, one HP port, and one HDMI port. Connectivity includes Bluetooth v5.4 and Wi-Fi 7. For video, it features a 2-megapixel 1080p FHD webcam. For audio, it features Dolby Atmos powered 2.2W dual stereo speakers. The power source is a 68.1Wh battery with a 65W USB-C adapter.
