Opera is constantly upgrading its browser options with new, tweaks, features, and versions. The latest iteration of the browser by Opera tackles the challenges users deal with globally, mindfulness, and stress.
The brand is unveiling Opera Air as a browser, with all of the tools for destressing and relaxation sourced within its user experience. Calling Opera Air, the Mindful Browser, the team behind its development used research-based data to inform, the feature on the tool, including breathing exercises, meditation, binaural beats, stretching, and positive quotes.
In the U.S. alone, 81% of responders to a survey said they would be interested in guided tools features on their browser that help them relax, while 81% said they would benefit from their browser playing ambient music scientifically proven to help them relax, and 87% said they would be willing to follow quick exercises such as neck stretches or guided meditations recommended by their browser during times of stress. Opera also surveyed participants in the UK, Poland, France, Spain, Germany, and Brazil to similar results.
To begin, the brand gave Opera Air a minimalist design with a frosted glass interface to look modern and less distracting. The overall look is also intended to promote calm and productivity.
The features on Opera Air include Boosts, which are auditory states that you can choose, for relaxation, focus, or to unwind. There are 19 Boosts to choose from– the main ones being Binaural beats, which are available in varying frequencies, between 1Hz to 40 Hz, and cover Delta, Theta, Gamma, Beta, and Gamma states. Boosts are also available in ambient sound options, such as rain, forest, or cafe crowds, and music such as lo-fi.
The Take a Break offers you options to decompress when stressed while remaining at your browser. The activities include meditation, breathing exercises, neck exercises, and a full body scan, ranging from three to 15 minutes. There are also guides, Emma or Alex– who are voiced by real people, that direct you through each activity. You can set a reminder to take a break every 45, 60, 90, 120, or 180 minutes. There is also a Body Battery feature on the browser that depletes as that time elapses to the next break.
Another feature of the Opera Air browser displays a Quote of the Day on its start page. You can sift through the quotes or share them with others.
Opera Air includes all of the standard Opera features, such as built in, free VPN, Ad trackers and blockers, messenger apps, workspaces, music player, My Flow, Built-in browser AI features, Aria, and additional AI functions from the Opera One AI browser.
Opera Air is now available for download on Windows and Mac platforms.
