LG has confirmed that the LG G8 ThinQ smartphone will have a technology that essentially enables an in-display speaker. The manufacturer announced Thursday that the LG G8 will include a new display feature called Crystal Sound OLED (CSO), which uses the device’s display as an audio amplifier.
LG explained that the technology allows the OLED display on the LG G8 to double as a diaphragm, to vibrate sound from the screen to produce audio. The LG G8 will also feature a bottom speaker to allow for 2-channel stereo audio. The device will also feature DTS:X 3D Surround Sound and Hi-Fi Quad DAC.
The LG G8 ThinQ will be unveiled on February 24 in Barcelona and will later be on display during MWC 2019 from February 25 to 28.
