In the wake of the first Android Q beta software releasing for the current smartphones in the Pixel line, fans are wondering when Google’s next flagship devices will release. The name Pixel 4 has already been coined by the public, with rumor-based renders surfacing in recent days. Still, announcement and release details for the 2019 Pixel devices will likely remain a secret for some time.
Pixel 4 release date best guess
However, Google’s release cycle of the Pixel devices is pretty transparent. Barring and unforeseen complications, there is a solid likelihood that the “Pixel 4” devices will launch sometime in early October and release to market in mid-October. We’ve see all three prior Pixel devices take this launch cycle. The original Pixel was announced on October 4, 2016 and released October 20. The Pixel 2 was announced on October 4, 2017 and released October 19. The Pixel 3 was announced on October 9, 2018 and release October 18.
If we were to zoom in on a specific date, the Pixel 4 could be announced on October 9 and release on October 17, as each market availability date is a day prior from the year before. Still, any details about the devices are pure speculation at this point.
Pixel 4 and Android Q
Currently, all eyes are on the first Android Q beta with developers and enthusiasts digging deep into the new software to highlight new features and bugs alike. Google has confirmed it will release six beta updates for Android Q before its public release in the third quarter of 2019. This could put its availability sometime in early August, which is similar to some prior Android releases. In addition to the older Pixel devices, consumers can likely expect early Android Q releases from device makers such as OnePlus and Sony. While the Pixel 4 won’t be the first device to run Android Q it should be the first device to release with the software as its native system.
Android Q nickname
The official name of Android Q will likely be the biggest kept secret of Google’s entire launch season. Android has had several nicknames based on fun and quirky tasty treats. Q is just the beginning of the challenging letters tha we’ve been equally anticipating and dreading for years.
Our best guesses at this point are that Google may drop the nickname all together and just go with Android Q or Android 10. That
We can be fairly certain than Android Q won’t be named Quince or Quiche. Could we hope for Quesadilla?
