“When will Android 10 be released?”

We may know that Google’s next operating system will officially be called Android 10, but its release date remains a bit fuzzy. However, a recent leak suggests that the software update may be available in about one week.

Phone Arena claims to have chatted with a Google support member who revealed that Android 10 will officially release on September 3. A follower of the blog also appears to have independently confirmed the date from another Google support member. While this date is not confirmed by Google executives or media liaisons, it could be valid, considering this year’s Android launch is already a bit behind schedule.

Google has opted for a mid-summer release for its latest system updates in recent years, meaning Android 10 should technically already be available. Android 9 Pie released in early August last year, just ahead of the Galaxy Note 9 unveiling. However, the Android team sharing the details behind the Android 10 name rebranding last week could be an indicator that the new system is near being ready for public use.

Once available, Google’s own Pixel brand smartphones will be the first cleared to update to Android 10. These include the Pixel 3 and 3XL, the Pixel 3a and 3a XL, the Pixel 2 and 2XL, and the original Pixel and Pixel XL.

Nokia has already shared an Andriod 10 update timeline for many of its devices between late 2019 and early 2020. Some of the first devices set to update include the Nokia 9 PureView, Nokia 8.1, and Nokia 7.1.

Several of Google’s beta partners, including Sony Mobile, Xiaomi, HMD Global, Oppo, Vivo, and OnePlus may also have speedy Android 10 updates.
