“Moto G8 Plus release could be imminent after a benchmark appearance revealing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chip”

Many details on the Motorola Moto G8 Plus have surfaced in recent weeks. Most recently, the device has been spotted at Geekbench, sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chip. Additionally, the benchmark has doubled down on already circulating spec rumors, which indicate the Moto G8 Plus may run 4GB of RAM and Android 9 Pie as its operating system.

The device already appears to have a pretty solid feature rundown, with prior reports suggesting it may feature a 6.3-inch display with a teardrop notch, 64GB or 128GB internal storage options, a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging, and a triple rear camera set up with a 48-megapixel main lens, a 16-megapixel ultrawide “Action Cam,” and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The smartphone may also include a now coveted 3.5mm audio jack.

Press renders have also surfaced, giving a fairly detailed look at what could be the Moto G8 Plus. A save the date invite shared by the Dutch tech blog, Mobielkopen has led many to believe the Moto G8 Plus is very close to release and could be announced on October 24. Some are skeptical about this date, considering that Motorola already announced a budget line earlier this year, which includes the Moto G7, Moto G7 Power, Moto G7 Play, and Moto G7 Plus. These devices were unveiled in February and some went on sale as late as April in certain markets.

Never the less, there are also details about other members of the G8 line circulating. Reports suggest the Moto G8 Play could adopt a similar camera set up to the G8 Pro, while the standard G8 could feature a hole-punch display to house its front-facing camera, rather than a teardrop notch.
