The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is available in stores and through mobile carriers as of Friday. The starting price for the new flagship is $999.99.
Customers can purchase the 128GB base model Galaxy Note 9 from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Verizon Wireless, Xfinity, Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, Sam’s Club, Straight Talk Wireless, Target, Walmart, Samsung.com and the ShopSamsung app. The 512GB premium model is available at AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, U.S. Cellular and Samsung.com for $1,249.99.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 9 on August 9, highlighting its massive 6.4-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display and 4,000mAh battery as primary features. The latest Note series device also has new S-Pen capabilities. The stylus supports Bluetooth Low-Energy, which allows owners to use it like a remote, for taking photos, navigating music and other common smartphone tasks.
Other standard specs on the Galaxy Note 9 include support for up to 512 GB of expandable storage, 12-megapixel dual cameras with wide-angle and telephoto lenses, 6GB and 8GB RAM options, and Android 8.1 Oreo. In step with the Galaxy S9, Samsung has moved the fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy Note 9 to below the camera module, for easier access.
US models run the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip, which allows for 1.2 gigabits per second network speeds. The Galaxy Note 9 was also the first Android device to offer the popular game Fortnite, but the beta version has since become available for other Android
The Galaxy Note 9 is available in Ocean Blue, Lavender Purple, Metallic Copper and Midnight Black; however, only the Blue and Purple options will be available in the U.S.
