“Verizon compatibility confirmed for OnePlus 6T”

The OnePlus 6T will have extended carrier compatibility as the smartphone is now certified by Verizon to run on its network.

Following reports that the OnePlus 6T will include Band 13 LTE, PCMag has now confirmed that the smartphone has passed the proper certification tests. Upon its November 6 market launch, Verizon customers will be able to use their SIM cards with unlocked models of the device. This brings OnePlus 6T carrier compatibility up to three networks: Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T.

As GSM carriers, the OnePlus 6T works with T-Mobile and AT&T by default. OnePlus also now has carrier affiliation with T-Mobile.  The carrier will sell branded models of the OnePlus 6T in stores and on its websites, in addition to customers being able to bring unlocked models to the network.

Verizon still hasn’t picked up models of the OnePlus 6T to sell in its stores, but this recent win could be another step forward to further carrier affiliation. Verizon is one of the U.S. front-runners for 5G development and OnePlus recently announced its plans to release a 5G smartphone in 2019.

The OnePlus 6T will be announced on October 29 in New York City. Though the smartphone won’t be officially on sale until the following week, New York fans can attend a popup, which will take place on launch day, in Times Square. OnePlus 6T models will be available for purchase at the event, with its price estimated at about $550. Several other global popups will take place in the following days and weeks.

The OnePlus 6T launch event will also be live-streamed on YouTube for those who cannot attend. OnePlus has opened the event up to the public and there are a limited amount of tickets still available.
