Huawei is giving lots of hints as to what consumers can expect from its devices in 2019. The Chinese manufacturer has at least three devices already in its 2019 lineup, which will include some of the latest trends for mobile cameras and displays.

Honor View 20 details

While we await the official launch of the Huawei nova 4 on December 17, the device maker has previewed one of its Honor brand flagship devices. Huawei shared details about the Honor View 20 on Monday, specifying a 48-megapixel main camera and hole-punch display among its main features. Huawei confirmed that the camera is powered by the Sony IMX586 CMOS lens and that it will have different shooting modes depending on the photo atmosphere. For a well-lit location, the Honor View 20 (or Honor V20) will be able to take advantage of all 48-megapixels in its lens. In darkly-lit locations, the megapixels will be able to expand to take in more light, making the lens more like a 12-megapixel camera.

The Honor View 20 will feature Huawei’s Kirin 980 chip, which includes an AI HDR mode to help maximize the detail in the device’s main camera. The smartphone’s front-camera may also have a high megapixel count, though it has not yet been confirmed.

Other highlighted features on the Honor View 20 include its Link Turbo AI connectivity feature, which will allow users to access the strongest networks between 4G or Wi-Fi when downloading content.

Huawei’s official launch of the Honor View 20 will take place on December 26 in Beijing, while the manufacturer will host a global launch event on January 22 in Paris.

Huawei P30 rumors

There are also preliminary details circulating about Huawei’s main 2019 flagship device, which would likely be called the Huawei P30. Rumors suggest the device may have a curved display similar to Samsung’s dual-edge display but may feature a top-notch or a teardrop notch instead of a hole punch display. The 38-megapixel Sony IMX607 lens has not yet been announced, but it has already been slated as the camera for the Huawei P30.
