“Google Camera app now available for Samsung Galaxy S10”

While the Samsung Galaxy S10 models are already lauded for their amazing camera quality, there is now a new port available that can make the camera even better. Members of the XDA developer forum have made the Google Camera app available for the newly released Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e and the installation is fairly simple.

The app brings to the Galaxy S10 models, Google’s software-improved features, including Night Sight, HDR+, Portrait Mode, and wide-angle mode. The Galaxy S10 devices do have their own versions of these features, but users may find that images taken with the Google camera may come out looking more natural. Many note users may find vast improvements in Google’s Night Sight, In comparison to Samsung’s Bright Night feature.

Check out installation instructions at XDA developers, keeping in mind some important details. This port works only for Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e running the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip. For now, devices running the Samsung Exynos 9820 chip are not compatible with this port but that may change in the future.

Users must also install the “day one” software update that was available before the Galaxy S10 models even released to market. Not only does this update ensure the Google Camera port works properly, it also enables Samsung new Bixby button remap feature. These are several great reasons to keep your Galaxy S10 handset up to date.

Luckily, this this installation method doesn’t seem to require rooting or unlocking of the Galaxy S10 bootloader. Backing up a device is always recommended when installing software in an unofficial manner.
