Samsung is now sharing details about its latest 12GB RAM modules, which will be included in several upcoming premium devices. The modules feature six 16-gigabit LPDDR4X chips that will take up less space within
Other improvements to the module include lower power consumption, increased camera capacities, and improved support of multiple screens, AI and 5G features. The smaller chips will also allow for even slimmer devices.
Samsung is now mass producing the component in the wake of its many recent product announcements. While most of the Galaxy S10 models are already available to consumers, the Samsung Galaxy Fold is set to release on April 26. The device maker’s first foldable smartphone will feature 12GB of RAM and will be available in a 5G model, making it a good candidate for the new RAM module.
Consumers can surely expect to see other premium devices from Samsung featuring 12GB RAM in 2019. Early Galaxy Note 10 rumors suggest Samsung is working on a 5G model of the device. It will be interesting to see if the Galaxy Note 10 has a larger screen than the 6.4-inch Galaxy S10+ or the 6.7-inch Galaxy S10 5G.
The Galaxy S10+ already comes in a model featuring 12GB of RAM; however, this model features an older LPDDR4 memory module that uses a 20nm process.
