“Motorola Moto Z4 render reveals 2nd gen 5G mod smartphone”

Motorola is already working on the next version of its 5G enabled smartphone if recent leaks are to be believed. Press renders of what will likely be called the Motorola Moto Z4 have surfaced, showcasing thin bezels and a teardrop top-notch design. If details are accurate, the Moto Z4 could be the first Motorola smartphone to release with 5G capability automatically enabled through its 5G Moto Mod.

Rumors suggest the Motorola Moto Z4 could release in late May, which would put it in line to power 5G out of the box when bundled with the 5G Moto Mod. Renders show the 16-pin pogo connector on the back of the device, which suggests it will be compatible with current Moto Mods.

Though the Motorola Moto Z3 has been on the market since August 2018, its 5G capability won’t work on the device until April 11, when Verizon launches its 5G service in Chicago and Minneapolis. The 5G Moto Mod is currently sold out on Verizon’s website but retails for $350. There will surely be new bundle deals for the Moto Z3, the 5G Moto Mod, and Verizon’s 5G service once the new network standard launches.

The Motorola Moto Z4 is expected to run the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, which furthers its likelihood of having 5G compatibility, according to the leak source, 91mobiles. The renders also suggest the device may have a single rear camera, which may be a 48-megapixel Sony sensor. Other expected features include 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-C port.
