“ROG 2019 gaming laptop lineup tackles several price points”

Asus’ Republic of Gamers brand recently showcased its massive 2019 lineup of gaming laptops for all different needs and price points. From the super high-end to the light and portable to some concept ideas that may go to market in the future, ROG’s offers are sure to appeal to all levels of gamers. Check out details about the systems below.

ROG Mothership

The ROG Mothership stands as the brand’s unique, high-end, gaming laptop, with a 4K UHD display and an interesting trick that allows users to detach the keyboard and put the display on a kickstand for a more desktop feel. Display options include 17.3-inch 4K 60Hz IPS G-Sync 100% ARGB or 17.3-inch FHD 144Hz IPS G-sync 100% sRGB.

Running Windows 10 Pro, the laptop features an Intel Core i9-9980HK processor and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 GPU, as well as DDR4 RAM up to 64GB and three 512GB NVMe SSD. It also includes an intricate cooling system with a liquid metal thermal interface for its CPU, four heatsinks with 375 ultrathin 0.1 mm copper fins, anti-dust tunnels, intelligent fan modes.

The ROG Mothership may be an interesting step toward what gamers can expect in the future, but may need some work in terms of weight and design to truly get that convertible laptop feel. The computer weighs in at 4.8kg (10.5lbs) an has dimensions of 41 (W) x 32 (D) X 2.9 (H) cm. It may be a great option for those with a unique streak, but likely impractical for the average gamer.

ROG Face Off Concept

The ROG Face Off Concept is a design collaboration between Asus and BMW Designworks to bring an exclusive look to the brand’s gaming laptops.

The design brings a brighter gunmetal grey color to the computer chassis, and yellows and oranges to the LED lighting under the keys, grills, and accents. The WASD keys and left side of the space bar stand out with light metal plates, to tacitly enhance the gameplay experience.

Zephyrus S / Zephyrus M / Zephyrus G

The Zephyrus series of gaming laptops are the true stars of the lineup for their thinness lightless and easy portability. They include the high-end Zephyrus S GX502, the standard Zephyrus M GU502, and the budget Zephyrus G (GA502), all running Windows 10 Pro.

The Zephyrus S features an Intel Core i7-9750H processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 GPU, as well as DDR4 RAM up to 32GB and 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB NVMe SSD options. Display options include 15.6-inch 1080p 240Hz or 15.6-inch 144Hz IPS G-Sync. Games can also set the Zephyrus S G-Sync mode, which allows for seamless gameplay with no bezel obstructions and its Optimus mode for better battery life.

The Zephyrus M features an Intel Core i7-9750H processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti or RTX 2060 GPU options, as well as DDR4 RAM up to 32GB and 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB NVMe SSD options. It features 15.6-inch 1080p display with 240Hz IPS G-Sync.

Both the Zephyrus S and Zephyrus M feature RGB lighting under their keyboard, a soft-touch paint finish to resist fingerprints, and ESS Sabre DAC for Hi-Res Audio.

The Zephyrus G features a Ryzen 7 3750H processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 GPU, as well as DDR4 RAM up to 32GB and 512GB NVMe SSD. Display options include a 15.6-inch 1080p 120Hz or 15.6-inch 60Hz IPS. It also features

ROG Strix Scar III / ROG Strix Hero III /  ROG Strix G

The Strix line of gaming laptops are the both beefy and pretty options of ROG’s latest lineup. They include the ROG Strix Hero III, ROG Strix Scar III, and the ROG Strix G, all running Windows 10 Pro.

The ROG Strix Scar III and ROG Strix Hero III both feature an Intel Core i9-9880H processor and GeForce RTX 2070 GPU, as well as DDR4 RAM up to 32GB and 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB NVMe SSD options. Display options include a 15.6-inch 1080p screen with 144Hz or 240Hz options or a 17.3-inch 1080p up to 144Hz. Developed for esports and professional gaming, the Strix Scar III and Strix Hero III both feature the an RGB light bar wrapped around the bottom of the laptop chassis, and the ROG Keystone, which allows users to easily keep multiple customized profiles on the same computer. The primary difference between the models are their colors. The ROG Strix Scar III will be available in a gunmetal grey options and the ROG Strix Hero III in black.

The ROG Strix G is a slightly less expensive model, fearting an Intel Core i7-9750H processor and GeForce RTX 2070 GPU, as well as DDR4 RAM up to 32GB and up to 1TB NVMe SSD. While it includes the light bar, it does not feature ROG Keystone. The ROG Strix G is already available at Best Buy, starting at $999.

Tuff Gaming FX505 / Tuff Gaming FX705

The Tuff Gaming line of laptops are apart of ROG’s budget options, but they include an interesting hardware combination with a AMD processor and Nvidia GPU. They include the Tuff Gaming FX505 and Tuff Gaming FX705 models, both running Windows 10 Pro. Price and availability details are expected during the second quarter.

The Tuff Gaming FX505 laptop features a 15.6-inch 1080p display running up to 120Hz, an AMD Ryzen 7 3750H processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU, as well as DDR4 RAM up to 32GB and up to 512GB NVMe SSD.

The Tuff Gaming FX705 laptop features a 17.3-inch 1080p display running up to  60Hz, an AMD Ryzen 7 3750H processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU, as well as DDR4 RAM up to 32GB and up to 512GB NVMe SSD.

Both models feature Immersive DTS surround sound, Aura RGB lighting under their keyboards, and miliary design and protection.
