“Google Pixel 4 render feature highlights for 2019 flagship”

A set of CAD renders depicting what is supposedly the Google Pixel 4 has left tech enthusiasts highly underwhelmed.

The images surfaced on the leak source Pricebaba Monday. Having worked with the tech informant, Steve Hemmerstoffer, aka Onleaks, to access leaked schematics, the source shared high-definition render images that show off many potential features for the device.

Many have quickly pointed out the striking design similarity to iPhone XI renders that have leaked in recent weeks. If accurate, Google may be looking to improve its camera set up with more lenses. According to Onleaks, the Pixel 4 could have between two and three lenses with a square bump housing the camera set up.

So far Google has refrained from jumping on the multiple camera bandwagon. Instead, the tech brand has used software developments to improve the image quality on its devices. The original Pixel, the Pixel 2, and the Pixel 3 all feature one main camera lens. However, Google has also been criticized for its lack of variety in the design of Pixel devices. It is possible the company could try to shake things up with the Pixel 4. The black on black renders don’t give away much but details but the available information is based on very early prototypes. Inconsistent details may also explain why there is no front-facing camera on the renders.

Many suspect the Pixel 4 will likely still have a top notch like older Pixel models due to the earpiece grill visible on the render. However, there is no capacitive fingerprint sensor included in the schematics, suggesting the Pixel 4 could get a biometrics updates. Options include an in-display fingerprint sensor, or a 3D face unlock feature, making the device even more iPhone like.

The renders also show off a USB-C port and two bottom facing speakers. The Pixel 4 could also continue Google’s 3.5mm audio port trend. The company has already spoken on the headphone jack being the differentiator between its new, affordable a-series products and the flagship tier Pixel devices.

Other rumored details suggest the Pixel 4 could run the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, 6GB of RAM, and the Android Q operating system. While release date details aren’t yet available, Google typically introduces its latest mobile hardware in October. We can surely expect many more Pixel 4 details to surface in the coming months.

Prior to this leak, a video surfaced on YouTube with details claiming to show off a Pixel 4 prototype handset, however, that leak has since been ruled out as a fake.
