“Samsung Galaxy Unpacked confirmed for August 7 with Galaxy Note 10 S-Pen and camera teasers”

Samsung has confirmed that it will host its next Unpacked event on August 7 at Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York. The smartphone maker sent out press invites Monday sharing details about its upcoming launch event. We are, of course, expecting to see the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 announced at the event, but at this point, all reports remain unconfirmed.

Samsung often includes on its invites, hints of features we can expect to see showcased on its upcoming devices. The Galaxy Note line is famous for its built-in S-Pen stylus and the Galaxy Note 10 may include new upgrades to the feature.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked S-Pen teaser

The S-Pen on last year’s Galaxy Note 9 introduced Bluetooth connectivity, which allows the stylus to be used as more than just a writing tool. The S-Pen can be used as a remote to execute functions such as triggering the camera shutter, changing slides, and pausing YouTube videos.

The Galaxy Note 10 is sure to include the same connectivity, as well as added functionalities. Perhaps we will see increased power support and remote compatibility with a larger range of apps, but we will have to wait and see what Samsung has in store.

The invite also hints at upgrades having to do with the Galaxy Note 10 camera; however, the significance of this feature is currently unclear. Some leaks suggest the device may feature a front-facing camera centered at the top of the device’s display with an Infinity-O hole-punch design. However, there is currently no word on any specifics about the selfie shooter.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 rumored specs

Other specifications expected for the Galaxy Note 10 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, and a 4,500mAh battery. Rumors suggest Samsung may now get rid of the 3.5mm audio jack on the device, and possibly also its infamous Bixby button.

However, there are also reports that suggest the Galaxy Note 10 could come in a standard model and a Pro or Plus model with heightened specs. If accurate, one model could retain some of the features that were once common on smartphones, while the other may follow a more modern design and feature language.

The standard Galaxy Note 10 may feature a 6.3-inch display and the Pro model, a 6.75-inch display. It is also likely that the Galaxy Note 10 Pro/Plus model could power 5G.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 market release

Though the Galaxy Note 10 unveiling date is now confirmed, its market release date has still not been revealed. Following the trajectory of Samsung’s most recent Galaxy Note launch timelines, the device may go on sale in late-August, which will likely put it ahead of the curve for the rush of smartphones that are announced and released in the latter part of the year.

The Galaxy Note 9 became available August 24 last year. With the Galaxy Note 10’s Unpacked event set for just days ahead of when the Galaxy Note 9 was announced on August 9 of last year, we can likely expect the 2019 Galaxy Note flagship to become available in a similar late-August timeframe.
