“Barsys 2.0 robot bartender still working to perfect its drink-making performance”

In a world of specialty cocktails and mix masters that turn drink-making into art, technology has stepped in to add its take on what it means to make the perfect cocktail. The latest iteration of the Barsys robot bartender aims to streamline the drink-making process with precise measurements and a light show for a little bit of flare.

The Barsys 2.0 is currently available for an eye-watering $1500, but the improvements made over its now-discontinued original model promise a user experience with a lot less troubleshooting and a lot more enjoying delicious drinks.

Barsys can support up to five standard size liquor bottles and three mixing containers that can hold any mixings that are as viscous as simple syrup. While juices and sodas are acceptable, anything too pulpy is not recommended, meaning that other drink ingredients, such as ice or garnishes must be added after a drink is made. The system does include a mixing container for any drinks that need further processing. Your Bond-style Martinis would, unfortunately, still have to be shaken by hand.

Barsys connects to a mobile app via Bluetooth, where users can pick their drink of choice and the number of servings and the device will get started preparing the drinks. The device can support up to three Bluetooth connections, allowing multiple users to put in their drink orders.

The robot bartender has been a hit in suburban neighborhoods and was a popular addition to many holiday gift guides, according to the Barsys team. Its size and weight are likely, not ideal for the typical city apartment. The company is also in talks with Arena Suites to implement the Barsys for use in its lodges and hotels.

Updates to the Barsys 2.0 include a regulation of its pressure system to allow easier insertion and removal of bottles with little spillage. The Barsys app has also received an interface update and will have several new cocktails added to its library in September, from popular influencers including @Choupettesdiary, @theglassclass, @BeautifulBooze, and @mix_o_logic.

While the device is available for purchase, shipping times may currently take up to three weeks, but the Barsys team expects the wait to shorten in the coming months.
