“Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 specs confirmed with September 6 release date”

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is official as of Wednesday with availability starting September 6. The premium Wi-Fi-only Android tablet will start at $649 when it goes on sale, with preorders starting August 23. There is an LTE model of the Galaxy Tab S6 expected to release at a later date.

While many question whether Android tablets are viable in the current market, Samsung continues to showcase its latest technology by packaging new features into its productivity-focused Galaxy Tab S line. For primary specs, the Galaxy Tab S6 includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, 6GB or 8GB RAM options and 128GB or 256GB internal storage option with microSD expansion up to 1TB.

The tablet has a 10.5-inch OLED with a 2560×1600 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio, as well as an in-display fingerprint scanner. Samsung has also outfitted the Galaxy Tab S6 with dual setup including a 13-megapixel standard lens and a 5-megapixel 123-degree ultra-wide lens, and an 8-megapixel front camera.

Powering the Galaxy Tab S6 is a 7,040mAh battery with an 18W Quick Charge mechanism; a bit of a disappointment after hopes of the tablet featuring the 25W super-fast charging seen on the Galaxy S10 5G. However, the tablet does get a snazzy battery-powered S-Pen stylus, similar to the Galaxy Note 9, and possibly the upcoming Galaxy Note 10. It features a 0.35mAh cell, which supports various Bluetooth functions and about 10 hours of standby battery life in a 10-minute charge. Unfortunately, the tabler loses its 3.5mm headphone jack.

Software-wise, the Galaxy Tab S6 runs Android 9.1 Pie with the One UI overlay. With a glass and aluminum design, color options for the tablet include Mountain Gray, Cloud Blue, Rose Blush.

Accessories for the Galaxy Tab S6 include its Book Cover Keyboard, Book Cover, and POGO Charging Dock. Samsung will have a deal offering those who purchase the Galaxy Tab S6 before September 22, 50 percent off the keyboard cover, brining its original $180 price down to $90.
