Samsung is expected to soon release “lite” versions of its 2019 flagships, which will include the Galaxy S10 Lite and the Galaxy Note 10 Lite. The devices are expected to release sometime in December with India as a primary market.
The smartphones have surfaced at several credible sources in recent days and weeks. Samsung has published a support page for a device with the model number SM-G770F, which is supposedly the Galaxy S10 Lite. Prior to this, device specifications have been seen on the Geekbench benchmark and certified through the Federal Communication Commission (FCC).
How “Lite” is the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite?
Many have noted that the Galaxy S10 Lite rumored specs are not much different from those of the standard Galaxy S10 that released much earlier in 2019. In fact, the Galaxy S10 Lite is expected to feature a 4,500 mAh battery, which the larger than the cell in the Galaxy S10+ and equal to the Galaxy S10 5G battery. The power details came from the Brazilian certification agency, ANATEL, which makes the leak more credible.
The Galaxy S10 Lite is also expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, as well as a 32-megapixel front camera and a triple rear camera set up with a 48-megapixel standard lens, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.
Some aspects that could make the Galaxy S10 Lite live up to its name include its Full HD+ display, which may be 6.7-inches diagonally. The device may not include expandable storage, which has remained commonplace on Samsung’s flagship smartphones.
There is also still a question as to whether the Galaxy S10 Lite will feature support 45W fast charging like the Galaxy S10 5G. However, reports also indicate that Samsung may rebrand the device in certain markets with fast charging included and call it the Galaxy A91.
The Galaxy S10 Lite is expected to run Android 10 out of the box and will likely come in white, black, and blue color options.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite details
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite has also surfaced at the FCC, with the agency certifying its S-Pen stylus for use with Bluetooth LE. The SM-N770F model number device may actually have more truncated specs compared to the Galaxy Note 10 flagship models, as a Geekbench benchmark featuring a 2018 Samsung Exynos 9810 chip, 6GB RAM, and Android 10 with a One UI 2.0 overlay. Not much is known about the Galaxy Note 10 Lite outside of these details.
