Some of the latest Galaxy S11 series rumors suggest that the S11+, in particular, may sport a 5,000mAh battery. Details first surfaced the Dutch blog, GalaxyClub, showing a Samsung battery certified by South Korea’s SafetyKorea agency.
The Battery’s EB-BG988ABY model number coincides with the SM-G988 model number that is being associated with the Galaxy S11+ handset. Its exact capacity is 4,855mAh, which may easily be rounded up to 5,000mAh for marketing purposes. Many expect or hope that a massive battery capacity on the Galaxy S11+ will support such high powered features as a 120Hz refresh rate of the device’s expected 6.9-inch display. Currently, no details about the Galaxy S11+ have been confirmed; however, a live image leak is pretty damning.
There has been a lot of news about batteries for the 2020 Galaxy S11 series circulating as of late. The device family is expected to include a standard Galaxy S11, the Galaxy S11+, a cheaper Galaxy S11e, and possibility also a Galaxy S11 5G. It remains to be seen whether the Galaxy S11+ and Galaxy S11 5G will be one and the same.
The standard Galaxy S11 battery has also been spotted at the SafetyKorea agency, with an EB-BG985ABY model number to coincide with the device’s SM-G985 model number and a 4,370 mAh, or 4,500mAh capacity. Prior reports have clocked the Galaxy S11e battery in at 3,730mAh or 4,000mAh.
More recent reports suggest the Galaxy S11e may also support 25W fast charging, which makes the feature likely for the Galaxy S11 and Galaxy S11+ unless they support even faster fast charging. The budget flagship model is also expected to support 5G connectivity, like its siblings.
Samsung Galaxy S11 series specs
In addition to gigantic batteries, all models of the Galaxy S11 series are expected to feature top-of-the-line specs. The standard Galaxy S11 and Galaxy S11+may include the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon Snapdragon 865 chip (or Samsung Exynos 9830 chip depending on the territory), at least 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 512GB UFS 3.0 storage.
The Galaxy S11 may feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ display, potentially with a 120 120Hz refresh rate. Rumors persist that these models may include a quad-camera set up with a 108-megapixel lens as its main sensor, in addition to 8K video recording support. Other camera features may include ‘Space Zoom’, ‘Night Hyperlapse’, ‘Director’s View’, and ‘Single Take Photo’.
A recent live leak of the handset in a leakproof case shows off its quad-camera setup. However, some have suggested that the handset may not be the Galaxy S11, but rather the Galaxy S11e.
The Galaxy S11e may feature a 6.4-inch display, with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or Samsung Exynos 990 chip options, 6GB of RAM and 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage options.
