“OnePlus Concept One CES 2020 teaser may be a foldable”

OnePlus is set to showcase some new technology at the upcoming CES 2020 conference in early January, and recent reports from the Korean Herald, suggest that the device may be a foldable smartphone.

There is very little known about OnePlus’ CES plans other than the brand will be showcasing its new concept throughout the conference, from January 7 to 10 at the Wynn Hotel. Industry insiders seemingly believe that OnePlus is ready to delve into a new form factor, much like manufacturer rivals, including Samsung, Huawei, and Motorola did in 2020.

At this point, said insiders cannot confirm whether the hunch is correct, but it has many wondering about how OnePlus may tackle a foldable device. We’ve already seen table-to-phone style foldables that fold inward like a book or outward like a teepee. We’ve also seen clamshell-style devices that fold inward and become more compact; however, the coming year is sure to bring new developments in the burgeoning device style.

OnePlus has kept the industry on its toes in 2020, releasing several Pro style handsets and also entering the 5G space with next-gen enabled devices. If the brand does release a foldable, there will surely be many questions to tackle, including whether the device will be a budget model or a flagship; whether it will cater to U.S. markets or international, and whether or not it will support 5G, among others.

There have been many alternate guesses posed as to what the OnePlus Concept One might actually be. Some have suggested the brand may introduce its OnePlus TV to the U.S. market. Others have suggested the brand could release wireless earbuds, a new 5G smartphone, a mobile payment system, or a smartwatch. Some even wonder if the brand may release a gold version of the OnePlus 7T that was showcased on Twitter weeks after its initial release.

Whatever OnePlus has in store, TechieSupreme will, fortunately, be on the ground at CES 2020 to bring you details.
