The ZTE Axon 11 5G is now official as a mid-range device that will be available primarily in China. Its starting price tag equates to a cost under $400, which is rather budget-friendly for a 5G smartphone.
The Axon 11 5G will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, to enable 5G, following similarly branded devices, such as the Nokia 8.3. The device also features a 6.47-inch FHD+ curved display with a teardrop notch and an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, 6GB and 8GB RAM options and 128GB and 256GB internal storage options, as well as a 4,000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ support.
The device includes a quad-camera set up with a 64-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Its front-facing camera is a 20-megapixel lens.
For software, the Axon 11 5G runs Android 10 with a ZTE MiFavor 10 overlay.
The device is currently available for preorder, selling for 2,698 yuan ($380) with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It’s 8GB/128GB model sells for 2,998 yuan ($420), and its 8GB/256GB model for 3,398 yuan ($480).
There is currently no word on whether the ZTE Axon 11 5G will sell outside of China, which is a turn from prior models in the Axon line. The Axon 10 Pro sold in the U.S. in 2019 with premium specs; however, it did not power 5G. Meanwhile, Nokia 8.3 is being marketed as a “global 5G” smartphone, which will have roaming compatibility with most international networks.
