“New Samsung Access Program offers cheaper Galaxy S20 payment plan”

Samsung’s latest upgrade program is offering a host of smartphone perks at a lower cost. Publications, including XDA Developers, recently discovered details about the new Samsung Access Program, which will include cheaper monthly charges for device payment plans and earlier upgrade schedules, among other features.

The new service will replace the old Samsung Upgrade Program, which gave customers the chance to upgrade to a new Samsung smartphone at yearly intervals. The new Samsung Access Program allows customers to upgrade to a new device every nine months. Much like the Samsung Upgrade Program, subscribers to the Samsung Access Program have the option to pay off the remaining balance of their device if they would like to own their smartphone in full. Samsung will also allow for early upgrades ahead of the nine-month timeframe with a $100 fee.

Currently, only smartphones in the Galaxy S20 5G series are eligible for the Samsung Access Program, with the standard Galaxy S20 priced at $37 per month, the Galaxy S20 Plus at $42 per month, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra at $48 per month.

In addition to early upgrades, the Samsung Access Program also includes Samsung Premium Care, 1TB of OneDrive storage, and Microsoft 365. With Microsoft 365, users ger access to Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Skype, and Teams as part of their Access subscription. With Samsung Premium Care customers can get their devices repaired or replaced with a $99 deductible, covering up to three incidents in a 12-month span. With 1TB of OneDrive storage users have an extensive backup capacity for photos and other data.

Samsung has also given customers a pretty easy canceling option, allowing them to return their loaned device for free after three months. Canceling before three months will incur a $100 fee.
