The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series could release to market August 21, if recent reports are to be believed. The Korean publication, ET News suggests this launch timeline for the device, which is set to be unveiled on August 5 in an online-only Unpacked event due to the current global pandemic.
While the date is unconfirmed, it is plausible, considering Samsung’s prior launch trajectories. The Galaxy Note 10 series was announced on August 7, 2019, and released August 23. The Galaxy Note 20 series will likely be made available for preorder the same day it is announced. This year’s series is expected to include a standard Galaxy Note 20 model with different display sizes and a super-premium Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (Plus).
The product lineup for this launch may also include the Galaxy Fold 2 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G; however, market release dates for these devices have not yet surfaced. Availability for these devices is expected after the Galaxy Note 20 series, especially since they may be delayed due to a limited supply for the ultra-thin glass that will be used on the foldable devices.
While launch and availability rumors circulate for the Galaxy Note 20 series, price details have also popped up, courtesy of tech informant Ice Universe. He suggests the standard Galaxy Note 20 may start at $999 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra at $1,299. These prices, again, are plausible considering the standard Galaxy Note 10 started at $949 and the highest-end Note 10 Plus 5G at $1,299 in 2019. There was also a Galaxy Note 10 Plus, which sold for $1,099,
Current rumors have flip-flopped as to whether there will be two distinct models in the Galaxy Note 20 series or three. While most sources suggest that the series will include a standard Galaxy Note 20 and a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra model, leaks of a Galaxy Note 20 Plus continue to surface. It’s not certain whether the Galaxy Note 20 Plus is a separate device or if it is the Ultra being referred to by another name. This mystery likely won’t be unveiled until Samsung’s official announcement.
There are also murmurs that Samsung has something planned for July 27, however, it remains to be seen what might be planned. There are other rumors of upcoming Samsung products circulating, including the Galaxy Tab S7 series and the Galaxy Watch 3. It is possible these products could be announced earlier and further showcased during the August 5 Unpacked event.
