“OnePlus Nord specs and price continue to shape an interesting budget 5G smartphone”

Details about the OnePlus Nord continue to solidify not long after the Chinese brand confirmed its new trajectory in the smartphone space. Most recently, famed leakster, Evan Blass aka @Evleaks revealed the full specs rundown for OnePlus’ upcoming 5G powered mid-ranger.

The device, codenamed “Avicii,” is set to feature a 6.44-inch FullHD+ AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip to enable 5G, RAM up to 12GB and internal storage up to 256GB with several hardware options available, a 4,115mAh (or 4,300mAh) battery with 30T Warp Charge support, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, and a weight of 185 grams.

Its cameras include a quad rear setup with a 48-megapixel main lens with OIS and EIS, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel portrait module, in addition to a 32-megapixel and 8-megapixel dual front camera setup.

Other expected features include an in-display fingerprint scanner and Android 10 with an Oxygen OS 10 overlay.

OnePlus has also hinted at Black, Blue, Turquoise (or Mint Green), and Gray color options for the device. More recent leaks from Blass showcased several cases for the OnePlus Nord, including special “creator cases” designed by Swedish artists Camilla Engstrom and Finsta and host of the YouTube channel JerryRigEveything, Zack Nelson.

While these details are not yet confirmed by OnePlus, the brand has officially announced that it will unveil the Nord in an AR launch event on July 21. The event begins at 10 a.m. EDT (7:30 p.m. IST) and can be accessed via the OnePlus Nord AR App for the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. This launch harkens back to the 2015 AR unveiling of the OnePlus 2.

Potential price details suggest the device will start at ₹24,990 ($330) in India and €500 ($560) in Europe. There has also been a price leak for Romania of RON 2,300. There is word preorders will begin in India and the U.K. ahead of the official launch and will include a number of goodies for earlier adopters.

Overall, OnePlus claims the Nord will be a sub-$500 phone. The device is not set to launch in North America at this time; however, there have been murmurs of a beta program for this market to let the plausibility of releasing future models.
