The consumer electronics world is abuzz about many of the products announced at the Next@Acer press conference on Wednesday, but many seem especially enamored by the Halo Smart Speaker.
The Google Assistant-enabled speaker features a fairly common mesh design and LED dots on its front, which project such images as alarms and temperature. However, its bottom panel is see-through and projects RGB colors to make for a fun smart home accessory. Many are comparing the design to the RGB lighting often used on gaming hardware. Users can set color options to their mood and or to flash along with playing music.
On top is a control center, which includes a play and pause button, volume controls, and a mute button. Audio-wise the smart speaker supports DTS sound that projects from every angle, 360-degrees.
The Acer Halo Smart Speaker is set to launch during the first quarter of 2021, selling for $109. European availablity begins in December, selling for €119. Other market availability, such as Canada has not yet been announced.
