“Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Camera and Back Panel Design Showcased in Mock-Up Hands-On Video”

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE release date appears to be back on track and details about the device are surfacing in the wild once again.

Dutch designer Jermaine Smit, Concept Creator on YouTube has shared a mock-up video of the Galaxy S21 FE, which he made with the rear panel he obtained from an unknown source. While the mock-up appears to be based on the specs from already well-known CAD renders, it does give a pretty decent basic look at the Galaxy S21 FE design. We see the camera hump and the spaces where the triple-lens setup will be placed.

Specs-wise, the Galaxy S21 FE is expected to feature a 32-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera. Smit said in his video he should be getting the main and telephoto lenses for the handset, which will allow him to confirm if they feature optical image stabilization.

The mock-up also showcases the gray color expected for the Galaxy S21 FE. It is one of four color options rumored for the device, which also include, white, light purple, and light green. Other rumored features include either a Samsung Exynos 2100 chip or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a 4,500 mAh battery.

At one point news about the Galaxy S21 FE had become so scarce there were reports that the device might have been canceled. However, rumors have since surfaced that Samsung plans to announce the Galaxy S21 FE around the time of CES in January 2022. The Consumer Electronics Show takes place between January 5 and 8 next year. There are other, more specific details suggesting a January 11 launch date for the device. Samsung has become known for hosting its own standalone Unpacked events close to but separate from major conventions in recent years, rather than announcing new smartphones at a keynote during conferences.
