Samsung’s next flagship, likely the Galaxy S24 series, might be announced state-side, in a San Fransisco launch early next year, according to reports out of Korea.
The publication claims Samsung has decided on a location in Cupertino about an hour away from Apple’s headquarters for its next Galaxy Unpacked event, which matches the brand’s unveiling strategy for the Galaxy S23. Samsung has been using California locales more commonly for announcing new products. However, it was known for its New York launches in the past and strategically announced the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 foldables in Seoul in July as a government collaboration effort amid South Korea’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan.
IT industry insiders have pinpointed the date as January 12. Prior rumors have suggested the date could be January 18. None of these details have been confirmed, but if true, the Galaxy S24 stands to be one of the first flagship smartphones of the year. The series will likely include standard Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra models.
CES 2024 will take place between January 9 and 12, giving Samsung some stiff competition. The brand is known for announcing its devices away from the hustle and bustle of the major conference so it can have its own limelight.
There is currently word that the Galaxy S24 include hardware such as the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Samsung may also reintroduce its own Exynos 2400 processor after overheating issues with the Exynos 2200 series chip in 2021. It is likely the standard Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 might feature the Exynos 2400, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra might run the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for distribution purposes.
