The Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G are now official with respective $699 and $499 price tags. The Pixel 5 is currently available for preorder and will go on sale on October 29, while the Pixel 4a 5G will be available on November 19.
Quickly following the 4G powered Pixel 4a, both devices are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G to enable 5G. Google has opted for a more premium mid-range vibe with the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G than the flagship tier models it has released in recent years. This will likely mean there won’t be a 5G device from Google with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series chip in 2020.
The Pixel 5 features a 6.0-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage, a 4,080mAh battery with 18W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and a Battery Share feature, enabling it to charge other devices wirelessly, and Android 11 software.
The device is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and an IP68 water resistance rating. It is available in Just Black and Subtle Sage color options.
The Pixel 4a 5G features a 6.2-inch FHD+ display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage, a 3,885mAh battery, a and a 3.5mm audio jack, and Android 11 software.
The device is designed with a soft-touch polycarbonate unibody and will be available in a Just Black color option.
Both the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G feature a dual-camera set up with a 12.2-megapixel main lens with ƒ/1.7 aperture and a 77-degree field of view and a 16-megapixel ultrawide lens with ƒ/2.2 aperture and a 107-degree field of view, in addition to an 8-megapixel front camera with ƒ/2.0 aperture and an 83-degree field of view.
Google has packed the camera with a host of features, including. Night Sight, Top Shot, Portrait Mode, Super Res Zoom, Motion Auto Focus, Live HDR+, Frequent Faces, Dual exposure controls, Cinematic Pan, Ultrawide Lens, and Portrait Light.
Both devices also include the Titan M security chip, the Pixel Imprint fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and a USB-C port.
