Acer has announced several new Chrome devices among many products at its Next@Acer press conference on Wednesday. The devices include the Chromebook Spin 513 series and the Chromebox CXI4 series, which have many highlight features, in different models to fit different consumer needs.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 513 series has piqued the interest of many with its inclusion of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c compute platform. It is the first Chromebook to run a Qualcomm SoC, which includes a Kryo 468 CPU and Adreno 618 GPU. It also supports 4G LTE and up to 14-hours battery life, among staple features.
The series includes a standard model and a Chromebook Enterprise Spin 513 model, with the main difference being the Chrome Enterprise Upgrade for Chrome OS software on the latter.
Hardware specs include a 13.3-inch display on a 360-degree hinge, LPDDR4X SDRAM up to 8G, eMMC storage up to 128GB, two USB-C ports, one USB-A port, and a 3.5mm audio combo jack. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, and optional 4G LTE.
The Chromebook Spin 513 will be available in North America in February 2021, with a starting price of $399.99 in the U.S. and CAD $599.99 in Canada. The Chromebook Enterprise Spin 513 will be available in North America in March 2021, with a starting price of $699.99 in the U.S. and CAD $949.99 in Canada.
The Chromebox CXI4 series similarly includes a standard model and a Chromebox Enterprise CXI4 model. Working more like a stationary desktop, the is powered by the 10th-Gen Intel Core i7 processor at maximum specs.
Other hardware specs include 16GB DDR4 RAM and M.2 2280 PCI-E SSD up to 256GB, configuration options, which include two-HDMI ports, up to five USB-A ports, and one standard USB-C port. Connectivity options include RJ45, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.1
The Chromebox CXI4 and Chromebox Enterprise CXI4 will be available in North America during the first quarter of 2021 with a starting price of $259.99 and $409.99 in the U.S. Release details for Canada have not yet been announced.
