The Asus Zenfone 8 series is set to launch on May 12 and numerous specs details have leaked for the models that are set to be unveiled.
The Taiwanese brand is expected to announce at least two devices, the Asus Zenfone 8 and the Asus Zenfone 8 Flip.
Various leaksters have uncovered both image leaks and hardware details for the devices. Check out a rundown below.
Asus Zenfone 8 Flip
The Asus Zenfone 8 Flip is expected to include a flip-up camera design as its highlight feature. The tech blog 91Mobiles shared render leaks of the feature that turns the rear facing camera into a front-facing with a “motorized camera mechanism” that flips the module up 180-degrees.
The technology has been seen first on the Asus ZenFone 6 and ZenFone 7. The brand markets it as “allowing for an edge-to-edge display with no hole-punch cutout or notch.”
The Asus Zenfone 8 Flip camera setup includes a 64-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel macro lens. The Asus Zenfone 8 Flip camera is also set to support 8K video recording
Other specs for the Asus Zenfone 8 Flip may include a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, a 8GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging. It’s color options appear to be silver and gray, with a blue power button.
Asus Zenfone 8
The Asus ZenFone 8 is being referred to as the Asus ZenFone 8 “Mini” in the rumor mill, but this device as some pretty solid specs
including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, starting with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, and a 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging. The mini may refer to its 5.92-inch FHD+ display.
The device may also feature a dual rear-camera system with a 64-megapixel main lens and a 12-megapixel macro lens, in addition to a 12-megapixel front camera, 8K video recording and 4K slow-mo at 120fps.
Other features include Android 11 software with a ZenUI 8 overlay, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C port, dual speakers, 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, and WiFi 6.
The device may come in colors similar to the Zenfone 8 Flip.
Price leaks suggest the Asus Zenfone 8 may start at €699 for a 8GB/128GB model, while a 8GB/256GB model may sell for €749, and a 16GB/256GB for €799.
