“Motorola Moto E6 releases with slight price and power bump”

Motorola’s latest budget smartphone, the Moto E6, is now available at U.S. carriers including Verizon, T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Boost Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Consumer Cellular, and Xfinity Mobile, selling for just $149.99.

The device will also be available at Amazon.com, as well as at Best Buy, B&H Photo, and Walmart. Additional availability to Canadian carriers and retailers will come later in the summer.

While the Motorola Moto E6 is easy on the wallet, some penny-pinching tech enthusiasts may not find it particularly special. For basic specs, the device includes a 5.5-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chip, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with MicroSD expansion up to 256GB, a 13-megapixel rear camera, and 5-megapixel front camera, a 3,000 mAh removable battery, the Android 9 Pie operating system. It’s color options include starry black and navy blue.

Though Motorola promises stellar power performance, the battery on the E6 is much lower the capacity on the prior Moto E5, which had a 4,000mAh battery. The Moto E6 processor is also on the older side, having released in 2016, though it is an upgrade from the Snapdragon 425 chip on the Moto E5.

Some other iffy aspects about the Moto E6 include its Micro USB port, at a time when most of the latest smartphones support USB-C. The device is also not slated to update to the upcoming Android Q operating system.

Still, many consumers may not require all of the bells and whistles seen on other budget smartphones that still keep their prices rather high.
