While Samsung has yet to make official the unveiling dates for either the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE or the Galaxy S22 series, most in the tech circuit are comfortable saying that the Galaxy S21 FE will be announced in January and the Galaxy S22 series will be announced in February.
There have been some specific dates and timeframes attached to these launches; however, well-known leakster, Jon Prosser shared on Saturday, some details that make the most sense for both launches and match up with already circulating rumors.
According to Prosser, the Galaxy S21 FE will be announced on January 4 and released to the market on January 11 with no preorder period. If accurate it would mean the Galaxy S21 would be announced during the timeframe of CES, which takes place between January 5 and 8. Samsung perhaps could unveil the device at an Unpacked event during the press-only days leading up to the conference. This then would allow the device to be official for showcasing at the event.
Prior rumors suggested a January 11 launch date for the Galaxy S21 FE but did not specify if it was an unveiling or market release. Many assumed that was when the device would be announced. However, by January, the Galaxy S21 FE will have been delayed for approximately six months, with the device having originally been set for an August launch. So Samsung likely wants this smartphone on the market as quickly as possible.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 series would soon follow, with a February 8 announcement, and preorder availability starting that day. The devices, which include the standard Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S22 Plus, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra, would release to the market on February 18, Prosser said.
There have also been prior rumors of an early February announcement; however, other rumors suggested a late January unveiling and preorder period in mid-February. Overall, the Galaxy S22 series launch appears to be on track with no delays. Reports currently indicate that components for the devices are currently in mass production and that the devices themselves will begin mass production in early December.
So many launch details leaking about both the Galaxy S21 FE and the Galaxy S22 series might be an indication that Samsung will soon officially reveal its unveiling plans for the devices.
