“Nokia 7.1 Android One smartphone highlights HDR video and photography”

The Nokia 7.1 Android One smartphone is now official and will be available in the U.S. at Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H online stores. The 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage model will sell for $349, with preorders starting Friday and the device going on sale October 28. Best Buy will begin selling the device in stores November 4.

HMD has made a splash with several Nokia phones in 2018. The Nokia 7.1 Android One features a metal design and is available in blue and silver color options. The mid-range device runs the Android One version of Android 8.1 Oreo, which offers just the most necessary apps in stock Android and high-level security options. It will soon update to the latest OS version, Android 9 Pie.

Other specs include a 5.84-inch FHD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, a Snapdragon 636 processor, a 12-megapixel dual-camera set up, both with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel front camera, a 3,060mAh battery, expandable storage and a USB-C port. European markets will also have access to a 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage version of the device.

Some tech highlights on the Nokia 7.1 include its PureDisplay screen technology, which provides HDR10 cinematic quality for compatible content platforms. The device also runs the latest Iris PX8418 mobile processing chip from Pixelworks, which enables real-time conversation of content from SDR to HDR. Its cameras are powered by ZEISS Optics, providing rapid autofocus and improved HDR photography.

Official accessories for the Nokia 7.1 include a clear case, which sells for $10 and a flip cover that sells for $20.

HMD announced alongside the Nokia 7.1, the Nokia True Wireless Earbuds ($150) and the Nokia Pro Wireless Earphones ($79). Availability details for the audio products are not yet available.
