“Samsung infinity flex and One UI smartphone specs”

Samsung’s foldable display smartphone is still not official, but we know more about it than we’ve known for several years. Samsung showcased a prototype of the device with its newly trademarked Infinity Flex display Wednesday at its annual Developer Conference keynote.

The manufacturer also shared details about its new custom interface called One UI, which will work on the Infinity Flex device as well as standard Samsung smartphones. It will essentially replace the current Samsung Experience UI, which was once branded as TouchWiz.

While rumors about the foldable display device indicate it may have features including 512GB of internal storage, Samsung did confirm to the device’s display specifications to journalists at the conference. Check them out below.

Cover display: 4.58-inches, 21:9 aspect ratio, 1960×840 resolution, 420 dpi pixel density

Infinity Flex display: 7.3-inches, 4.2:3, 2152×1536 resolution, 420 dpi pixel density

According to Samsung, One UI will have a number of features specific to the Infinity Flex display device. One is the continuity to allow users to move apps seamlessly from the cover display to the main Infinity Flex display. Another is a multi-active window, which will allow users to run up to three apps simultaneously on the Infinity Flex display.

Samsung has hinted that the Infinity Flex device may release at the next Unpacked event. While it hasn’t been confirmed, we have some suggestions on when that event may take place. The manufacturer also has plans to update the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S8 to Android Pie with the One UI interface in January 2019, also indicates the Infinity Flex device may also be very close to being officially revealed.
