Samsung has confirmed that it will host its next Unpacked event on February 20, but instead of being hosted at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, the unveiling will take place in San Fransisco.
The device maker began sending press invites for the event on Thursday and also teased that its upcoming flagship device will, in fact, be called the Samsung Galaxy S10.
Reports also indicate that Samsung will showcase its foldable phone during this February 20 event. It is not certain whether this will be an official unveiling or a further tease as the manufacturer is sure to want some spotlight during MWC. Considering Samsung is rumored to be releasing three Galaxy S10 models, in addition to the foldable phone, and the still elusive Galaxy S device, we wonder if there will be several events over the course of several days.
The company has already done this with the Galaxy Note line. The latest S-Pen smartphones typically have their own launches in August, but Samsung often hosts events weeks later during Berlin’s IFA conference, for other products like its smartwatches.
Earlier this week during CES 2019, Samsung hosted an intimate First Look event showcasing its MicroLED displays and TVs ahead of its CES press conference, which featured a number of products, including notebooks, appliances, and robots.
With so many technologies planned, more events simply mean more media attention for the manufacturer, so we’re looking forward to, even more, invites as MWC draws closer.
