“Motorola Moto G7 budget smartphones highlight camera, power, and performance”

Motorola has announced a family of four smartphones in the budget smartphone category. The Motorola Moto G7 family includes the Moto G7, Moto G7 Power, Moto G7 Play, and Moto G7 Plus, which addresses several affordable price points.

Motorola hasn’t shared specific U.S. release dates for the G7 devices, but they are already available in Brazil and Mexico and will launch in Europe in mid-February. They will later release in the Asia Pacific, Latin American and Canada. The Moto G7 Plus won’t be available in the U.S. but will release in Australia, as well as in the aforementioned markets.

Motorola Moto G7

The Motorola Moto G7 highlights its camera as a primary feature. The device includes a dual-camera system with a 12-megapixel main lens and a 5-megapixel depth lens. Some interesting camera functions include spot color, which allows for color and black and white aspects in the same photo, high-resolution zoom, and Google Lens. The Moto G7 also features an 8-megapixel front camera.

Other specs for the device include a 6.2-inch display with 2270×1080 resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 832 chip, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, with microSD support, and a 3,200mAh battery. 

For software, the Moto G7 runs Android Pie and has a rear fingerprint sensor and face unlock for multiple biometrics options.

The Moto G7 will sell for $299 in the U.S. but its release date has not yet been confirmed. It will be available through retailers and carriers including Best Buy, B&H Photo, Walmart, Amazon, Google Fi, Republic Wireless and Ting.

Motorola Moto G7 Power

The Motorola Moto G7 Power highlights its 5,000mAh battery as its primary feature. Motorola promises up to 60 hours of battery power in a single charge, which could equal up to 3 days for the average U.S. user. The device also features a turbo power charging mode, which can boost a device’s power by up to 9 hours in just 15 minutes.

Other specs for the device include a 6.2-inch display with 1520×720 resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chip, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage with microSD support, a 12-megapixel main camera with ƒ/2.0 aperture, and an 8-megapixel front camera.

For software, the Moto G7 Power runs Android Pie and includes a rear fingerprint sensor as its biometrics option.

The Moto G7 Power will sell for $249 in the U.S. but its release date has not yet been confirmed. It will be available through retailers and carriers including T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Consumer Cellular, Republic Wireless, Ting and Xfinity Mobile, Best Buy, B&H Photo, Walmart and Amazon.

Motorola Moto G7 Play

The Motorola Moto G7 Play highlights its small size and high performance as its primary features. With a 5.7-inch LCD display with 1512×720 resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio, the Moto G7 Play is the smallest of the G7 family. With less power going to the display, Motorola claims the device gets a 110 percent performance boost, compared to the prior Moto G6 Play.

Other specs for the device include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chip, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage with microSD support, and a 13-megapixel main camera with ƒ/2.0 aperture.

For software, the Moto G7 Play runs Android Pie and has a rear fingerprint sensor and face unlock for multiple biometrics options.

The Moto G7 Play will sell for $199 in the U.S. but its release date has not yet been confirmed. It will be available through retails and carriers including Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Republic Wireless and Ting, Best Buy, B&H Photo, Walmart and on Amazon.

Motorola Moto G7 Plus

The Motorola Moto G7 Plus is similar to the standard Moto G7, with its camera as its highlight feature. The device includes a dual-camera system with a 16-megapixel main lens and a 5-megapixel depth lens. Some interesting functions include optical image stabilization (OIS), high-resolution zoom, auto smile capture, and Google Lens.

Other specs for the device include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chip, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage configurations, with microSD support, and a 3,200mAh battery. 

For software, the Moto G7 Plus runs Android Pie and has a rear fingerprint sensor and face unlock for multiple biometrics options.

The Moto G7 Plus won’t be available in the U.S. but is priced at €299.99.
