“OnePlus 10 Pro Release Date Confirmed for January by CEO”

OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau confirmed on Chinese social media on Tuesday that it will announce the OnePlus 10 Pro in January.

The brand has not shared the exact launch details for the device; however, speculations lean toward a January 5 unveiling. Reports indicate that the January launch might be for the Chinese market, while other regions might see the device announced in March or April.

The OnePlus 10 series is expected to include a standard OnePlus 10 model and the OnePlus 10 Pro, though there has been a lot of focus on the Pro model lately. Both models are set to feature Qualcomm’s recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.

OnePlus 10 Pro specific rumors suggest the model might feature a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz high refresh rate. Design-wise it might have a top-left corner hole punch to house its 32-megapixel front camera.

Other rumored specs include 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, a 5,000mAh battery, with 80W wired fast charging, and 50W wireless fast charging support, IP ratings for water and dust resistance, and Android 12 with a ColorOS 12 custom overlay.

The main camera on the OnePlus 10 Pro is expected to include a 48-megapixel main lens, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 8-megapixel 3x optical zoom lens.

The OnePlus 10 series will be the brand’s first flagship released since merging with Oppo in September. One of the major changes in the deal is that OnePlus is taking on Oppo’s ColorOS over its own OxygenOS overlay.

OnePlus also now runs as a sub-brand under Oppo rather than as a main brand. Both brands are owned by BBK Electronics.
