Rumors about the new Galaxy Note 10 are slowly beginning to pick up as recent reports suggest Samsung may outfit the device with new charging technology.
The Galaxy Note 10 could have charging power of over 25 watts, according to industry insider, UniverseIce. His recently shared Tweet indicates that Samsung may be continuing to work on redeeming itself from battery woes of the past. A charging mechanism of 25W or more would be some of the fastest smartphone charging speeds on the market.
In comparison, Samsung’s current 15W fast charging standard on devices such as the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S10 allow devices to go from zero to up to 50 percent charge in about 30 minutes. A power upgrade to 25W or more could potentially cut current fast charging times down by a third to a half.
Samsung has been ginger with batteries on its devices for a while, but has slowly gained confidence in beefing up its power components. The Galaxy Note 9 released with a 4,000mAh battery last August. The more recent Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10 5G also have some impressive battery capacities with 4,100mAh and 4,500mAh cells respectively.
Samsung also introduced an interesting wireless power share feature on the Galaxy S10 models, which allows them to wirelessly charge wearables, accessories, and other smartphones on their back panels. While unconfirmed, the Galaxy Note 10 is sure to adopt this feature. Samsung may also want to improve charging power on future devices in order to support such an intricate wireless charging feature.
Current rumors suggest Samsung may release several models of the Galaxy Note 10 with at least one version of the device also featuring a 4,500mAh battery. With both 4G and 5G Galaxy Note 10 models expected, Samsung is sure to want to have stellar battery life for its device that is already meant for power users.
