The OnePlus 7 Pro is now official and already on sale in some locations, but the Chinese manufacturer also announced another product update at its Tuesday launch event — a new version of its earphones, the Bullets Wireless 2, which will release on May 21.
OnePlus explained that the original Bullets Wireless were such a success after releasing last year that it decided to swiftly upgrade the accessory with some design and audio quality tweaks. The earbuds are now rounder, but maintain the same magnetic mechanism that allows them to snap together when not in use, to ensure they don’t accidentally fall off of a wearer’s neck.
The Bullets Wireless 2 feature the Qualcomm AptX HD codec for 24-bit hi-res audio over wireless and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The earbuds also feature a quick pair feature that allows them to easily connect to OnePlus smartphones, as well as a feature that allows for easy switching between two devices. The Bullets Wireless 2 is also compatible with Google Assistant.
Charging for the Bullets Wireless 2 is also impressive, with OnePlus promising 10 hours of music in a 10-minute charge and 14 hours of music in a full charge.
While many of the Bullets Wireless 2 updates are favorable, OnePlus did take the opportunity to give its popular accessory a significant price hike. The earbuds will sell for $99, up from $69 on the original Bullets Wireless model.
