The BlackBerry Key2 LE is now available through the Verizon Wireless business division. Enterprise and small business customers can purchase the Android-based QWERTY keyboard smartphone in its Slate color option for $449.99 or for $99 with a 2-year activation from Verizon Wireless.
TCL Communication, which owns BlackBerry, originally announced its business collaboration with Verizon in January during CES 2019 and is now detailing availability for the device. The BlackBerry Key2 LE is a budget version of the BlackBerry Key2 flagship, which released in July 2018. With this collaboration, it gets a further discount from its original $650 price tag.
The Key2 LE features a plastic frame but still has many of the typical BlackBerry features, such as a 4.5-inch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a physical keyboard. Its keyboard includes speed key shortcuts that allow users to easily access their most used apps, contacts, and other common actions.
BlackBerry Key2 LE runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chip and includes 4GB of RAM, 32GB and 64GB internal storage options, and MicroSD expansion up to 512GB, as well as dual-SIM support and a 3,000mAh battery. Its Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support allows for an additional 50 percent charge in about 36 minutes. BlackBerry claims the device can run for up to 22 hours with average use. The Key2 LE also includes a dual-camera set up with a 13-megapixel lens and a 5-megapixel lens and an 8-megapixel front camera.
The BlackBerry Key2 LE runs Android Oreo with many of the systems staple features, including Google Lens, Google Pay, and Google Assistant. Additionally, the smartphone includes privacy features, such as DTEK and Locker, which secures files shared in the cloud. The BlackBerry Hub app centralizes all messaging platforms into a single platform.
