“Huawei Mate 30 series render leaks surface revealing four unique models”

Though the Huawei Mate 30 series will be official tomorrow, last minute leaks have surfaced to give more of an idea of what we can expect from the controversial flagship.

Tech informant, Evan Blass, aka @evleaks recently shared a number of image renders, which give an extremely clear look at the designs of the different Mate 30 models. The Mate 30 Pro (pictured in header) is expected to be Huawei’s highlight product at the Berlin launch. It will feature a quad-camera setup in a distinct circular module, which includes a LED flash and the 3D ToF sensor.

Huawei is also bringing what is being called a “waterfall” display design to the device, where the screen curves around the edges of the handset to further accent its thin bezels.

Renders showcase the Mate 30 standard model with a dual-camera set up and a flat display. However, Huawei has done a lot to minimize the bezels on this handset as well. Both Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro models will be announced in Space Silver, Cosmic Purple, Black, and Emerald Green color options, according to leaks.

Additionally, renders showcase the Mate 30 Porsche Design, which appears to be a souped up version of the Mate 30 Pro in terms of design and storage. Red and black models feature a racing stripe down the middle, housing the camera module, instead of a circular design.

Finally, renders reveal the Mate 30 Lite, which appears to be a rebranded version of the budget Huawei Nova 5i Pro model, which was announced in the summer.

Huawei’s launch has been marred with controversy amid its product ban enstated by the U.S. government. The smartphones are expected to release with Google’s latest Android 10 software; however, they may not run the usual G-Suite apps, such as Google Maps. There have also been hints that the Mate 30 Lite could potentially run Huawei’s own HarmonyOS. Though the company insists the software is intended for smart home and IoT, executives have confirmed the brand is prepared to use it on smartphones if necessary.

But all details about the Mate 30 series will be official in a matter of hours, with Huawei expected to make a live stream available for those who are not able to attend the launch live.
