The Samsung Galaxy S11 rumor mill is overrun with details about the upcoming smartphone and it appears that one major design feature across all models will be a huge camera bump on the backs of the devices.
New leaks surfaced Tuesday, showcasing the prospective design of the Galaxy S11+, in particular, sporting a rather large camera module that may house up to five lenses and two additional sensors. Informants @OnLeaks and CashKaro collaborated to share the latest CAD renders and details on the Samsung Galaxy S11+. If current rumors are to be believed, one of the main cameras on the Galaxy S11+ could be a 108-megapixel lens with 5X optical zoom, which could enable QHD+ resolution photographs and 8K video recording.
Other details mentioned in the leak suggest a 6.9-inch curved Dynamic AMOLED display for the Galaxy S11+ with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Dimensions for the device might be 166.9 x 76 x 8.8 mm with thickness up to 10.2 mm when including the rear camera module. The renders also showcase power and volume buttons on the left side of the device and a USB-C port for charging.
More Samsung Galaxy S11 leaks
The latest renders follow a barrage of other Galaxy S11 leaks, which showcase similar features for other models expected in the 2020 devices line. There are expected to be standard Galaxy S11 and Galaxy S11e models, in addition to the Galaxy S11+. @Onleaks and 91Mobiles shared renders of the standard Galaxy S11 last week, with a similar penta-camera module design.
This leak highlighted some of the major differences between the Galaxy S11 series and the Galaxy S10 series, such as the selfie camera hole punch being moved from the right corner to the center and the camera module being moved from the center to the left corner. The lenses in the module appear to be set up in an L shape; however, there are no details on whether this set up has a functionality significance.
The Galaxy S11 and the Galaxy S11+ differ in that the S11 may feature three lenses and two sensors, with one of them being a 3D ToF sensor. Informant, @UniverseIce suggests the other sensor might be laser autofocus. However, rumors expect the standard S11 and S11+ may both feature the 108-megapixel lens.
The standard Galaxy S11 may also feature a 6.7-inch display with 161.9 x 73.7 x 7.8mm dimensions, with thickness up to 8.9mm for the camera bump. The Galaxy S11 and its S11 Plus and S11e counterparts may all release without headphone jacks, officially moving Samsung into the statue quo among smartphone manufacturers.

Prior leaks of the Galaxy S11e also suggest this model may see a major upgrade in specs and design for what it supposed to be Samsung’s budget option. @Onleaks and Pricebaba shared renders of the device, which may sport a similar centered selfie cut out and left-sided camera module design to the standard Galaxy S11 and Galaxy S11+
Other details suggest the Galaxy S11e may feature a display between 6.2-inches and 6.3-inches. It may have 151.7 x 69.1mm x 7.9mm dimensions with its width reaching 9.1mm due to the camera bump, as well as a USB-C port, the main microphone, and a speaker grill.
Other Samsung Galaxy S11 series details
With so many Galaxy S11 models rumored for release, details can get confusing. There have been reports that the Galaxy S11 and Galaxy S11e may be available in 4G LTE and 5G models, while the Galaxy S11+ might only sell in a 5G model. However, recent details now suggest there may also be a separate Galaxy S11 5G model.
The device surfaced on the Geekbench benchmark with an SM-G986B model number, a Samsung Exynos 990 chip and 12GB of RAM. If accurate there would be a question as to what will differentiate the Galaxy S11+ from the Galaxy S11 5G, perhaps storage capacity. Perhaps certain models may be exclusives for a particular mobile carrier. It may take more leaked details or Samsung’s unveiling to confirm.
Max Weinbach of XDAdevelopers recently laid out a number of other potential specs details for the Galaxy S11 model in particular, including a 120hz AMOLED Display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 108-megapixel, 48-megapixel, and 12-megapixel cameras with 8K 30fps video, DDR5 RAM, and a larger, updated in-display fingerprint sensor, among prior mentioned features. Weinbach also believes of the Galaxy S11 lenses could be a macro camera that may accommodate the long-rumored 5x zoom, in addition to 2x zoom.
