The Galaxy S20 series is already gearing up to be a mobile powerhouse line, but Samsung appears to have a lot more in store for its impending release. The Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra models, in particular, are expected to ship with a pair of Samsung’s Galaxy Buds+ truely wireless headphones as free swag, according to a recent leak by famed informant, Evleaks.
The insider recently shared a Tweet of Samsung press material with details about the pre-order deal, which plainly states the stipulations of the offer. The deal is not surprising, considering Samsung and its carrier affiliates offered free models of the original Galaxy Buds with preorders of the Galaxy S10 series in 2019.
The Galaxy Buds+ are also a rumored product at this point but are expected to be announced alongside the Galaxy S20 series in mid-February. Highlight features on the new earbuds will likely be an 85mAh battery, which supports up to 12 hours of power on a single charge. This would surely be a welcome upgrade to the 58mAh battery on the original Galaxy Buds.
Rumors currently state that the Galaxy Buds+ won’t feature active noise cancellation, which has been a common feature among truly wireless earbuds in the last year. In comparison, Apple released its AirPods Pro wireless earbuds with the feature, and a professional-grade price tag of $249 to match. There is no word on what the Galaxy Buds+ will cost on their own, but it is likely without ANC, they may remain overall cost-effective. The original Galaxy Buds sell for $129.99.
In addition to the Galaxy S20 series and the Galaxy Buds+, Samsung is set to announce a cheaper clamshell-style foldable smartphone called the Galaxy Fold 2.
