“Motorola Edge leaks suggest multiple models for a series launch”

Motorola is expected to soon release its first flagship tier smartphone since 2018. However, there is also word that the impending launch may be of a series, including not only of the already rumored Motorola Edge+ but also a standard Motorola Edge model, which may include more mid-range specs.

Several sources, including XDA Developers and @Evleaks have shared image leaks of the device that may be the standard Motorola Edge. Accompanying the images leaks are specs details for the Motorola Edge, suggesting the device may feature a 6.67-inch curved “waterfall” display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a single hole-punch on its left side, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Hardware may include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 midrange chip, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, a 4500mAh battery.

Its camera system may feature a triple-lens set up may include a 64-megapixel sensor, a 16-megapixel sensor, and an 8-megapixel sensor, as well as a 25-megapixel lens for the front camera. Other notable features may include a Type-C, a3.5mm headphone jack, and the Android 10 operating system.

@Evleaks press render leak shows dark blue and maroon color options for the device. Live leaks from XDA Developers show various device settings, which revealed the potential specs for the smartphone.

In contrast, the Motorola Edge+ is rumored to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 to enable 5G, 8GB and 12GB RAM options, 5,170mAh battery, and stock Android 10, in addition to a triple camera set up may include a 108-megapixel lens, a 16-megapixel lens, and an 8-megapixel lens, and a 25-megapixel front camera.

There is no word on when the devices may be unveiled and released to market. Motorola originally intended to showcase new products at Mobile World Congress in February, which was ultimately canceled due to worries about COVID-19. When announced, the devices are expected to be exclusive to Verizon.
