“Google Pixel 4a could launch as soon as May with recent leaks revealing package design”

The Google Pixel 4 release may be imminent, as soon as May, with several new leaks surfacing in recent days. The blog, TechDroider, recently shared images of Pixel 4 retail packaging, which is fairly damning evidence that the smartphone is ready for launch.

The boxes have a similar design language to packaging from prior Pixel models and no obvious indications that the images are doctored. There has already been a detailed live-leak hands-on video for the Pixel 4a, which leaves very little of the device to the imagination.

There are also reports that Google may be canceling the Pixel 4 XL model and might only release one budget model smartphone at this time but so far, the rumor has not been confirmed. There is also a potentially, a recent leak, of an eBay listing offering a replacement back cover for the Pixel 4a XL; however, some question its validity.

With Google I/O now canceled, both in-person and online, it is likely that Google will announce the Pixel 4a via press release. Features expected for the device include a 5.81-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, a 12-megapixel rear camera, and 8-megapixel front camera, as well as a 3,080 mAh battery and USB-C.

The device may come be priced similar to the Pixel 3a at $399.
