Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 9S Monday as the international version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro, which released in India earlier this month. The Redmi Note 9S is largely the same, save for its international branding.
The device will have an early launch for Malaysia and Thailand on March 27, where it will be available at retailers including Lazada, Shopee, and JD Central. It will also be available through AliExpress starting April 7.
Primary specs on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S include a 6.67-inch FHD+ LCD “DotDisplay” with a centered hole punch and Gorilla Glass 5, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chip, 4G and 6GB RAM options, and 64GB and 128GB internal storage options with microSD expansion up to 512GB, in addition to a 5,020 mAh battery with 18W fast charging.
The device includes a quad-camera set up with a 48-megapixel main lens with an f/1.79 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 5-megapixel macro lens with autofocus, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Its front camera is a 16-megapixel lens.
Other features on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S include a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IR Blaster, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and Android 10 with an MIUI 11 skin. The device is available in blue, black, and white color options.
Price and availability for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S will break down to RM 699 for the 4GB RAM 64GB internal storage model in Malaysia and TBH 5,999 for the 4GB RAM 64GB internal storage model in Thailand. AliExpress will sell the 4GB RAM 64GB internal storage model for $199 and the 6GB RAM 128GB internal storage model for $239.
The device’s Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro version is already available in India where the 4GB RAM 64GB internal storage model sells for INR 12,999 and the 6GB RAM 128GB internal storage model sells for INR 15,999. The next sale begins on March 24 at GearBest.com.
