POCO F2 Pro is now official as of Tuesday with a €499 starting price, amid several higher-end specs. The brand is calling its new smartphone a “Flagship Killer,” comparing it to several devices, including the OnePlus 8 and the Samsung Galaxy S20, in terms of features, performance, and design.
The POCO F2 Pro features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip to give it top-level performance speed as well as 5G, WiFi 6, Super Bluetooth connectivity. The brand also detailed its 4,700mah battery with liquid cool 2.0 technology made of graphite and graphene, to keep the device running smoothly through high-performance tasks, such as gaming. It also supports 30w fast charging, which can take the battery from zero to 100 percent in 63 minutes.
Design-wise, the POCO F2 Pro features a 6.7-inch display with HDR10+ support. Featuring no notches or hole punches, the device does include a screen fingerprint scanner and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protecting both the front and back. The brand also discussed its curved design to keep up with common smartphone form trends and the Cyber Gray, Neon Blue, Phantom White, and Electric Purple color options for the POCO F2 Pro.
By fan request, the device retains several features, including an IR blaster, NFC, and headphone jack, which are more commonly being phased out by other brands. Software-wise, the device powers Android 10 with the Poco Launcher 2.0, which includes Dark mode as a primary feature.
Also keeping in trend with many smartphone manufacturers, the POCO F2 Pro includes a quad-camera set up with 64-megapixel main lens with EIS and OIS, a 5-megapixel macro lens, a 13-megapixel 123-degree wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For its selfie camera, the device features a 20-megapixel pop-up camera, which is also what allows it to have no front holes or nitches. It supports 8K video, portrait mode, pro mode, and video stabilization.
The POCO F2 Pro will sell in two models, a 6GB RAM/128GB internal storage variant selling for €499, and an 8GB RAM/256GB internal storage variant selling for €599. Availability begins today at retailers including Geaebest and AliExpress, while other sellers include Poco.com, Amazon, Lazada, Shoppee, and JD central will announced availability soon.
