Update 6/23
OnePlus has now confirmed it will host a launch event in India in July to announce its new price-conscious smartphone. The brand opened a new Instagram account with a few details about the launch. The page also hints at Z naming scheme for the smartphone. The private account requires approval for access, but once visible there is a post that confirms a July launch period. However, many details about the device remain unknown.
The device is set to launch first in India and Europe, with many suggesting July 10 as the specific date. Currently, there is no date available for the actual market launch, nor is there any information on whether it will sell in the U.S., in particular. OnePlus noted availability in North America but did not give specifics. The brand has been using the U.S. as one of its main markets for introducing its more expensive flagships. It will be interesting to see if it will give American consumers a taste of what originally made OnePlus smartphones so popular.
